Part 2 - COVID 19: The Experience of Corporate Africa

This is Part 2 of a 9 part series of 4 min interviews with Corporate Leaders on the COVID 19 experience of Corporate Africa. Part 2 interviews Mr Stanley Tsikirayi, who serves on Boards in Eastern & Southern Africa. In Part 2, Stanley responds to the first of three questions: "In the African context, how foreseeable was a pandemic?".

Parts 1 & 3 seek the perspective of Sadia Chinery-Hesse and Lamin Manjang on the same question.

Sadia is Group Head, Legal & Company Secretary, Enterprise Group West Africa. Enterprise are an insurance company headquartered in Ghana, with operations in Nigeria and The Gambia.

Lamin is currently the CEO for West Africa operations of Standard Chartered Bank. His previous assignments with the bank recently included a stint as CEO of the bank's East Africa operations.

Parts 4 to 6 presents the responses of our three experts on the second question: "How well did Corporate Africa mitigate the risks of the COVID 19 pandemic? What lessons have been learnt?".

Parts 7 to 9 examines their views on the final question: "What are the prospects for a post COVID 19 recovery in Africa? How can Corporate Africa and the Continent be better prepared for the Next Disruption?" (it will happen!).
